Funeral In Berlin #16

It was like trying to eat a mouth full of dry chicken without anything to wash it down. Horrible, just horrible. I am almost ashamed to count it in the numbers.

Finally Dead (14 & 15)

Dead Ever After and After Dead Dead Ever After is the book all the Stackhouse fans were waiting for. Who does Sookie end up with?  A twoey?  Will she be a fangbanger her whole life?  Questions questions questions.  I will not answer that one for you.  I can say that this book wraps up all of the bad guys so that when it ends, Sookie is able to have a Happily Ever After like The Little Cinder Girl and all the other []

The Strain – Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan (13)

The Strain Book 13 Before I left the greater NYC, one of the final books I read there was Del Toro’s “The Strain”.  I found it fascinating and very detail oriented.  I liked the was the story was pieced together with various culturistic backgrounds.  It speaks to me of NYC and the various types of people from various lifestyles/cultures. It is a vampire book (but not a sparkly or ‘Hey I wanna go to bed with Eric’ type of vamp).  I read []

The Deads – Charlaine Harris / Sookie Stackhouse Series (Spoilers)

The “Dead” Books By: Charlaine Harris 2014 Books 1 to 12 When Dad was sick I spent a lot of time at his house and I was going to attempt to read 100 books in a year.  In the middle of that attempt my Dad went from bad to worse and reading fell off the priority list.  Dad is now better and it is a new year.  So, I am going to give this a go again. I will be moving into []

2014 The Year Of Awesome Sauce!

In November 2013 I walked a race, The Warrior Dash put on by the organization Wounded Warrior.  I had a decent enough time (44 minutes with no preparation – literally received the email Thursday for the Saturday morning race).  So I decided 2014 would be the year of 5k’s.  Then I thought I would throw a couple of Half Marathons in there to make it interesting.  The thing is, the ones I wanted to do came early in the year.  So this []

Tis My Birthday Blog And A Year In Recap

This year was probably my best and worst year ever on this planet, all mushed up into a giant ball.  Now that the dust has settled and life has resumed some faction of normalcy, it allows me to think about the upcoming year and how it holds so much promise that sometimes I tear up.  My life has been an exquisite disaster for the most part.  Always hanging on, in some fashion or another, by a thread.  Bobby has come into my []

Cow Love and Walking a 5K

My day started very early.  530AM on a Saturday is not something I like to think about.  It’s that one morning I am able to sleep in.  And here I was, throwing my legs over the edge of the bed and allowing my feet to realize they needed to take the first steps of the day.  How did that happen?  Easy, I had been plugging along with a healthy routine for a number months.  I was doing well.  Then my Dad was []

Home is where the Dad is…

Hold on to me as we go / As we roll down this unfamiliar road And although this wave is stringing us along / Just know you’re not alone Cause I’m going to make this place your home Settle down, it’ll all be clear/ Don’t pay no mind to the demons They fill you with fear / The trouble it might drag you down If you get lost, you can always be found / Just know you’re not alone Cause I’m going []

Hope Floats…

“Childhood is what you spend the rest of your life trying to overcome. That’s what momma always says. She says that beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, but it’s the middle that counts the most. Try to remember that when you find yourself at a new beginning. Just give hope a chance to float up. And it will, too…” ~Hope Floats New beginnings.  And I am just trying to let hope float up.  That is where I am this morning. After []

Dude, it’s leg day!

I hate leg/butt day.  I am strong in the lower section but I inevitably do something to make it impossible to walk unlike John Wayne for two days after.  Oofa. But, because I want the butt illustrated below, leg/butt days must happen… Jose Cuervo, you are not a friend of mine….lol  But anyway, my leg workout (with illustrations) is as follows: 1.     10 Forward Lunges: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43FKLnpyPDU His voice gives me the robotic giggles! 2.     1o Plie Jumps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9rZeX5Aq4s She makes them seem easier []
