There were five nominations for Directing.  My pick is:

There were five nominations for Documentary, Feature.  This is a random guess as it is the one category I just could not squeeze in (but will in a retro post).  I have read up on each and the one that made me research further was this one.  My pick is:

********************************

There were five nominations for Documentary, Short.  My blog about that category is here: Oscars Documentary, Short.  My pick is:

There were five nominations for Music (Original Song).  My pick is:

There were five nominations for Production Design.  Because of the amazing scope in production for this film and the use of the actual civilian boats, my pick is:

There were five nominations for Sound Editing (and Sound Mixing).  My pick is:

********************************

There were five nominations for Costume Design.  At this time I have seen four.  Of those four, my pick is:

********************************

There were three nominations for Hair/Makeup.  I have seen two of the three nominations.  I really thought Wonder would be my pick until I watched this movie. I will go back later in the week and write a respectable blog on this category (and will watch the third movie for perspective sake).  For now, my pick is:

********************************

My pick for Best Actor: Gary Oldman, Darkest Hour

********************************

My pick for Best Actress:  Frances McDormand

********************************

My pick for Supporting Actor: Woody Harrelson

I did not watch Florida Project or All The Money In The World.  This is a choice made from seeing three of five of the nominated actors in their roles.  However, I would be amazed if any would sway me away from this choice.

********************************

My pick for Supporting Actress: Laurie Metcalf

Like with Supporting Actor, I have only seen three of the five nominated actresses in the roles they were nominated for.  I loved Laurie’s portrayal of Lady Bird’s mom.
