I posted this once before but the pages would not enlarge well enough for people to read the recipes. And some of those recipes beg to be read!
My Nana, Susie Seletyn, attended Carlisle First Church of God. The mouth of the holler we lived in was directly across from the church. For the majority of my life, I could stand on the front porch, look down our dirt road and see the very building that is on the front of this cookbook.
I can remember my Mother gathering up recipes for this book and then selling them. I remember the money envelope, with the names of people who purchased the book on front.
Some of these recipes are amazing and others are…interesting.
I hope you enjoy the read. You should be able to click on the image to enlarge it now.
Do you have a crazy family recipe that other people might not understand? I would love to hear about it in the comments below!

Thank you for sharing!! I read through it and it brought back so many great memories of the time we spent at Carlisle COG while my dad was pastor
I am glad you enjoyed it! I have been making my way through a lot of my parents’ old memorabilia. There have been tons of photos, yearbooks and cookbooks. I wish I had asked my parents more questions about some of the people in photos – there are some that I have no idea who they are.
So very nice! I remember this well and all the other people!
