Movie: Blade Runner 2049 (2017) #Oscars #SoundEditing

We watched the original with Uncle Jim because he said it was a classic and we should watch it because it is a classic. For the love of everything holy it was just bad (IMHO).  Flash forward to Oscars week – this is one I thought, “I will give Alex a rest and let him watch something that is not socially aware, animated or depressing”.  sigh  At 40 minutes in, I looked at Alex and said, “Holy crap this is the slowest moving movie EVER.  I am glad we started watching this around 5PM, I would not have made it through this as a night movie.  It has to be almost done and nothing has started. (pulls up movie menu) WE ARE ONLY 40 IN???  THERE IS TWO HOURS TO GO??”

So – we stopped at 40.  I will not give a crap about the sound categories (although I will root from Star Wars) and we will pretend we did not just lose 40 minutes of our lives senselessly.

We will stick to socially aware, animated and depressing. HA HA HA

But – here is the movie info I usually give:

Trailer:

IMDB Synopsis: A young blade runner’s discovery of a long-buried secret leads him to track down former blade runner Rick Deckard, who’s been missing for thirty years.

Starring:

Additional Movie Info:

It received a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 87% Fresh.  It received a Rotten Tomato audience rating of 81% liking it.  Average Rating: 4.1/5 with a number of User Ratings: 56,179.

Movie Reviews:

Specs:  Release date: October 62017 (USA) / Runtime: 164 minutes / Budget: $150M

IMDB Trivia:

  • It sucked (but that’s just my opinion).
  • No movie should be that far past two hours.
  • Ever.
  • Sucked.
  • In all honesty I can only tell you the first FORTY minutes was enough, I did not see anyone other than Ryan Gosling and David Bautista.  It could have been bril after 41 minutes.  I refused to take the chance.
