I wrote about this movie in 2018, the link is here:

I love behind the scenes photos!

I lived for the announcement that Doctor Strange was coming to the big screen. My favorite comic book characters are Cloak and Dagger. My hopes were out of this world for an appearance. Sadly, they were given a teen-angst-its-about-love show on Freeform. I watched three heart breaking episodes and called it quits. They have two seasons under their belts. I just checked to see if they were renewed for a third and it appears they will have a crossover with the Runaways show. They are taking a page out of the DC playbook (Flash, Green Arrow, Supergirl crossovers to help bolster up a show that dips in ratings). Maybe one day I will binge the whole series when they take it off air. Maybe not.

My second wave of joy came when they announced Benedict Cumberbatch would be playing the lead role. He, unlike C&D, did not disappoint. I believe he was truly made for this particular role. Couple that with an absolute favorite of mine, Tilda Swinton. Swoon. I would watch her read the dictionary in her jammies while eating cereal.

Then there was the extra bonus of Benedict Wong. I had so thoroughly enjoyed him on Marco Polo (sad they did not renew that one). I had the utter joy of meeting him at the Cincy Comic Expo last year (2018). He will go down in my history as one of the best meets I ever had. I paid for the selfie. It was not the greatest but before I even had a chance to look at it, he took the camera from his assistant and said “Come here!” For the next few minutes, while standing in front of his table, we took a crazy range of pictures. The one below is my favorite. When I told him I loved him in Marco Polo, he put his arm around me and whispered in my ear, in character, that my Khan appreciates me. Gave me goose pimples.

In addition to my first blog on the movie, I have a few other thoughts:

Do all super heroes have to be arrogant?

Biggest lesson in life, it is not all about you.

Second watching, I felt more like it was too campy.

Do all boy heroes have to have average Jane’s as their girlfriends?
